The Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) is a biennial film festival held in Hanoi, Vietnam, typically around October or November. Founded in 2010 as the Vietnam International Film Festival, it was the first international film festival in Vietnam, showcasing new films of all genres including feature, short, documentary, and animated films. Since 2016, HANIFF has expanded its entry criteria to include films from all countries and regions worldwide, moving beyond its initial focus on the Asia-Pacific region. The festival is organized by the Department of Cinema, aiming to build the brand of Vietnamese cinema, facilitate exchanges, and expand its market internationally. The 7th edition of HANIFF took place from November 7 to 11, 2024, featuring 117 films from 51 countries and territories under the theme "Cinema - Soaring Creativity".
