The Giornate degli Autori, also known as Venice Days, is an independent and parallel section of the Venice International Film Festival, founded in 2004. Modeled after the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes, it aims to spotlight independent films by lesser-known filmmakers, prioritizing innovation, research, and original expression. Promoted by Italian film director associations ANAC and 100autori, the Giornate provides a platform for quality cinema and fosters an informal space for filmmakers, producers, distributors, and journalists to connect.
