The Gimli International Film Festival (GIFF) is an annual Canadian film festival held in Gimli, Manitoba, typically on the last weekend of July. It is recognized as Manitoba's largest film festival and the largest rural film festival in Canada. The festival showcases a diverse program of narrative, documentary, and experimental feature and short films from Manitoba, Canada, and around the world. A notable feature of GIFF is its free outdoor beach film screenings, where movies are projected onto an 11-meter-tall screen erected in Lake Winnipeg. The event also includes industry workshops, an emerging filmmaker pitch competition, and a 48 Hour Filmmaking Challenge.
