The Georgetown Super 8 Film Festival is a community-based event in Seattle's Duwamish Valley dedicated to the creation and sharing of amateur Super 8 films. Established in 2006, the festival aims to foster inclusive dialogue, promote individual creativity, and allow community voices to define, document, and tell the story of the neighborhood. It encourages residents, regardless of filmmaking experience, to participate in making films, providing support and resources. As of 2024, the festival has supported the development of 400 films created by over 1000 participants. Films are non-juried, and completed works are screened to the community.
