The Free Spirit Film Festival is an annual international film festival held in Hawai'i, often referred to as "the smallest film festival in the world" despite its global vision for showcasing films. Hosted at the Hawaiian Sanctuary in Pahoa on the Big Island, the festival aims to present unique and enriching films from around the world. It includes the Free Spirit Film Awards, with winners selected by a grand jury, and an Audience Award determined by festival-goers' ballots. The festival has been ongoing for over two decades, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024 and planning its 21st edition for 2025.
