Festival of Cinema NYC is an international film festival established in 2016, originally known as the Kew Gardens Festival of Cinema, before rebranding and relocating to Forest Hills, Queens, New York City. Held annually for ten days in August, the festival aims to nurture and develop the careers of emerging filmmakers and writers, and to provide a platform for independent films of all lengths, genres, and subjects from around the world. The event features film screenings, as well as workshops, panels, and seminars designed to offer insights into the film industry. Festival of Cinema NYC is supported by organizations including the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and it includes a competitive awards program.
