The Festival Internacional de Cine de Tequila (FICTEQ) is an international film festival held in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, and the surrounding Agave Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The festival, which celebrates its tenth edition in 2026 from February 25 to 28, showcases cinematic works in categories such as feature films, short films, and music videos across fiction, animation, and documentary genres. FICTEQ aims to decentralize access to cinema and promote cultural and environmental commitment through screenings, workshops, masterclasses, and networking opportunities. Despite facing challenges, including a lack of municipal support in some editions, the festival has continued with the backing of independent allies and sponsors.
