Festival Film Santri, also known as SANFFEST, is an Indonesian film festival dedicated to fostering the development of cinema within the Islamic world and among *santri* (Islamic boarding school students). The festival aims to showcase the cultural richness and wisdom of *pesantren* (Islamic boarding schools) through the medium of film, providing a platform for *santri* to create short films that convey Islamic values. The inaugural edition is scheduled for late 2025, with events taking place in Surabaya and Jakarta. It focuses on exploring diverse expressions of Islam and offering insights into the world of *santri* and *pesantren* through collaborative and experimental cinematic works. The theme for its 2025 iteration is "Iqra," meaning "read," encouraging participants to interpret not only texts but also life and societal changes.
