The Festival Cinematográfico Internacional de Uruguay is an annual event organized by Cinemateca Uruguaya, showcasing short and feature films, fiction, documentaries, and experimental works from Latin America and around the world. The 44th edition will take place from March 30 to April 12, 2026, featuring 209 films, including 125 continental premieres, across various venues in Montevideo and other cities, as well as a virtual platform. Supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the festival aims to promote cinematic quality and creative values, serving as a hub for regional discussions and cultural reflection.
