The ECOCINE International Environmental and Human Rights Film Festival, based in Brazil, is recognized as the first environmental film festival in the country and the second worldwide, having been established in 1992 in conjunction with the ECO-92 Earth Summit. The festival focuses on themes related to the environment and human rights, showcasing documentary, fiction, animation/live action, and video clips across short, medium, and feature film categories. Its 33rd edition is scheduled to take place in 2025, with screenings both online and for live audiences.
