Docaviv, also known as the Tel Aviv International Documentary Film Festival, is Israel's largest film festival and the only one exclusively dedicated to documentary films. Founded in 1998, it operates as a non-profit organization and has drawn an attendance of around 40,000 in recent years. The festival is an Oscar® qualifying event, screening approximately 100 films annually, including international and Israeli documentary cinema, debut films, and special screenings. Docaviv features multiple competitive sections, such as the International Competition, Israeli Competition, and Shorts Competition, alongside non-competitive sections like Panorama, Masters, and Music. A five-day offshoot, Docaviv Galilee, is also held in Ma'alot-Tarshiha.
