The Doc Alliance Award is an annual accolade presented to the best European documentary feature and short films by the Doc Alliance, a creative partnership of seven European documentary film festivals. Established in 2008, the award aims to promote the documentary genre and support its diversity, particularly highlighting creative documentary debuts by emerging filmmakers. Each participating festival nominates one feature-length and one short film for consideration, with the winners selected by a jury of European film professionals. Since 2015, the award ceremony has often taken place at the Locarno Film Festival or during the Doc Day Lunch at the Cannes Film Festival. The winning directors receive a monetary prize to support their future projects.
