The Dhofar International Film Festival is a cinematic event held in Salalah, Oman, organized by the Oman Film Society. Its inaugural edition took place from September 8 to 11, 2024, at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment. The festival aims to promote film culture in Oman, support the local film industry, enhance tourism in the Dhofar Governorate, and provide opportunities for aspiring filmmakers through workshops and screenings. The first edition featured 41 qualified films, divided into short narrative and documentary categories, from nearly 200 submissions across 18 countries. It also presented awards for Omani and international feature and documentary films, alongside jury awards.
