The Deaf Way Film Festival is a four-day celebration presented by Gallaudet University that spotlights the creativity, power, and stories of deaf filmmakers and professionals in the film industry. The festival, which will take place October 16-19, 2025, in Washington, D.C., aims to showcase films by Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and hard of hearing creatives and celebrate Deaf culture, sign language, and Deaf pride. It evolved from the historic Deaf Way Festivals previously hosted by Gallaudet University, which celebrated arts, culture, education, and achievements within the international deaf community. The Deaf Way Film Festival accepts both feature and short films, including narrative fiction, documentary, or hybrid formats.
