The Festival Internacional de Cine Infantil y Juvenil CALIBÉLULA is an international film festival for children and youth, established in 2017 in Santiago de Cali, Colombia. Its primary purpose is to bring cinema closer to children and adolescents through a diverse and high-quality program. The festival features both national and international competitive sections for feature films and short films, including fiction, animation, documentaries, and experimental films. A fundamental aspect of CALIBÉLULA is its pedagogical component, offering free participation in training activities, commented screenings, workshops, and meetings for children, adolescents, educators, and film industry professionals. The selected works are exhibited in various venues such as commercial and independent cinemas, public libraries, cultural centers, and academic institutions. The festival also aims to promote and strengthen the audiovisual and cinematographic industry in Colombia by fostering interest and passion for culture and art among young people.
