The Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF) is an annual event that celebrates South Asian cinema, conversation, and culture in Chicago. Founded in 2010 by the Chicago South Asian Arts Council Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, CSAFF aims to advance diversity in Chicagoland by providing a platform for South Asian talent, stories, and themes. The festival screens a diverse selection of films, including feature films, documentaries, shorts, and animated films from various South Asian countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Iran, and Tibet. It also hosts panel discussions, workshops, awards ceremonies, and networking events, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and supporting both established and emerging filmmakers. The festival has garnered support from the Mayor of Chicago, the Chicago Film Office, and other cultural institutions.
