The festival screens independent films from emerging and established directors, encompassing shorts, documentaries, feature-length films, TV series, and virtual reality experiences. Its programming focuses on the theme of "Global Issues," aiming to empower risk-taking storytellers and develop independent artists and audiences worldwide. In 2019, USA Today recognized the Chelsea Film Festival as one of the "Top 10 Best Film Festivals in North America." The festival presents various awards selected by a jury of film experts and the audience.
