The Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) is an annual event held in Calgary, Alberta, typically in late September and early October. Founded in 2000, it has grown to become the largest film festival in Alberta and the sixth-largest in Canada. The festival showcases over 200 multi-genre feature and short films from Canada and internationally, and includes an Industry Week for filmmakers and professionals. CIFF is recognized as an Academy Awards® and Canadian Screen Awards qualifying festival, offering over $60,000 in cash and prizes. In 2024, CIFF celebrates its 25th anniversary, taking place from September 19-29.
