The Busan Inter-City Film Festival, which began in 2017 as the 1st UNESCO Busan City Film Festival, is an event that showcases local films from both domestic and international cities, particularly those designated as UNESCO Creative Cities of Film. Organized by the Busan Independent Film Association, the festival aims to foster inter-city film exchange and expand creative networks by sharing diverse local stories and promoting friendship across cultures. It accepts short films under 40 minutes across all genres, with a focus on films made in or by directors from participating cities. Recent editions include the 4th festival in December 2020, the 5th from September 3rd to 5th, 2021, and the 8th scheduled for August 30th to September 1st, 2024.
