The Bridgeport Film Fest, established in 2021, is a non-profit initiative dedicated to discovering, championing, and developing independent filmmakers and audiences in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and globally. The festival showcases various film categories including narrative shorts, documentary shorts, web series episodes, experimental shorts, student films, Connecticut-shot films, music videos, super shorts, and environmental films. It aims to foster cultural and economic growth in Bridgeport by providing film screenings, workshops, panel discussions, and networking events. The festival also prioritizes diversity, aiming to screen at least 50% of projects by Black, Brown, and Indigenous filmmakers, and at least 50% by female filmmakers. The main venue for the festival is the historic Klein Memorial Auditorium, a 1,447-seat performing arts center.
