The BienCortos Film Festival, also known as the Festival Internacional de Cine Corto de Maracaibo, originated in Maracaibo, Venezuela, in 2022 as an annual showcase for regional and national productions. Organized by the audiovisual collective Proyecto Gaveta, the festival expanded its scope in its third year (2024), aiming to become a national and international platform for independent short films. It offers projections, workshops, conversations, and special events, fostering the exchange of experiences among film professionals and the general public. The festival features competitive sections like "Lagos" for national short films, "Puentes" for international short films, and "Relámpagos" for video dance and video music.
