The Bare Bones International Film and Music Festival was founded in 1999 by the Darkwood Film Arts Institute in Muskogee, Oklahoma, United States. The festival's primary mission is to showcase independent motion picture projects with budgets under one million dollars, providing a platform for low-budget, independent movies from local, regional, and international filmmakers. It features over 150 movies, alongside panel discussions, educational seminars, and an awards gala. MovieMaker Magazine has recognized Bare Bones as a valuable festival for independent filmmakers.
