The Bali International Indigenous Film Festival (BIIFF) is an annual event dedicated to honoring and celebrating indigenous people, aiming to share their wisdom and stories with a global audience. It serves as a platform for indigenous filmmakers to showcase their works and connect with an international filmmaking community. Initiated from grassroots efforts in Kalimantan in 2015, the festival expanded to an international event in 2018, aligning with other indigenous film festivals like the Kalimantan International Indigenous Film Festival (KIFF) and the Kuching International Indigenous Film Festival (KIIFF). The 2020 edition, for example, featured 19 films from 13 different tribes and nations, focusing on themes such as indigenous wisdom, connection with nature, and land rights.
