The Australia Independent Film Festival (AIFF) is an internationally recognized event located in Brisbane, Australia, and is known passionately as "the filmmaker's festival." Founded in 2017, AIFF has grown to become a prominent event on both the domestic and international film festival circuits, aiming to be Australia's premiere short film and screenplay festival. The festival screens a curated program of short-form documentaries, animations, experimental films, and dramas, including local, national, international, and world premieres. AIFF has been consistently ranked among the top 100 out of over 7000 listed festivals by FilmFreeway entrant reviews. It also features the "SEQ Future Stars" program and awards ceremony, exclusively for high school students from South-East Queensland.
