The AUGENBLICK Festival du cinéma germanophone is an annual film festival held in the Grand Est region of France, dedicated to showcasing German-language cinema. Since its inception in 2005 by the association Alsace Cinémas (now RECIT), the festival aims to promote the culture and language of German-speaking countries through film. It typically features around thirty films, many of which are previously unreleased, from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, all screened in their original version with subtitles. A central part of the festival is a competition where six films vie for the Jury Prize, the Audience Award, and the Young Audience Award, with filmmakers often meeting the public in various Alsatian cities.
