The Asian Independent Film Festival encompasses at least two distinct events. One iteration is a monthly live screening event culminating in a yearly red carpet mega event held in India, dedicated to discovering and celebrating independent films and artists globally. Another is AAIFF Asia, also known as The All Asian Independent Film Festival, which operates as a sister festival to ÉCU – the European Independent Film Festival. This festival supports independent filmmakers across Asia by providing platforms for their work, facilitating connections with industry professionals, and offering an immersive festival experience. AAIFF Asia has been instrumental in advancing the careers of independent filmmakers for five years, with its 2024 edition featuring 27 films from 16 countries.
