The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is an international cultural initiative established in 2007 and headquartered in Australia, often referred to as "Asia-Pacific Oscars". Overseen by the Asia Pacific Screen Academy, it aims to honor and promote the films, actors, directors, and cultures of the Asia Pacific region to a global audience, aligning with UNESCO's goals of preserving diverse cultures through cinema. APSA recognizes cinematic excellence and cultural diversity from over 70 countries and regions, encompassing an area stretching from Egypt to the Cook Islands and Russia to New Zealand. The awards are presented annually on the Gold Coast, Australia, in collaboration with UNESCO and the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). Films are evaluated for their cinematic quality and reflection of cultural backgrounds by an international jury, with nominees inducted into the Asia Pacific Screen Academy.
