The Art & Shorts Film Festival is an event that invites submissions of short films (under 10 minutes), visual artwork, and music centered around the theme of "HOME — Rooted and Reimagined". The festival's selection committee is composed of youth currently in foster care in the Houston area. It awards cash prizes for winning categories such as Best Short Doc and Best Animation, and also provides a scholarship to a youth transitioning from foster care in the greater Houston area.
