The Aks International Minorities Festival, established in 2014 by Pakistani and diasporic activists, is a global human rights initiative that promotes the visibility of minorities and marginalized groups through film, art, and dialogue. Operating bi-nationally in Pakistan and Denmark, and having held events in Manchester and Berlin, the festival screens films, organizes educational workshops, art exhibitions, and performing arts events to foster awareness and discussion on issues impacting minority communities. The festival specifically focuses on queer and transgender people of color and indigenous Khwaja Sira (transgender) communities, providing free access and safe spaces for dialogue.
