The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) took place from November 20 to 28, 2024, in Panaji, Goa. The festival, organized by the National Film Development Corporation under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, featured over 180 international films from 81 countries, including 15 world premieres. The theme, "Young Filmmakers – The Future is Now," introduced a new award category for Best Debut Director of an Indian Feature Film. Australian filmmaker Phillip Noyce received the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Lithuanian film *Toxic* won the Golden Peacock for Best Film.
