The 48 Hour Film Project - Lyon is a local edition of an international short film competition where teams are challenged to write, shoot, and edit a film within a 48-hour timeframe. Participants, both professional and amateur, must demonstrate creativity, speed, and perseverance to complete their short films within the strict deadline. The best films from the Lyon competition can advance to a national final in Paris, and the top Lyon film represents the city at the international Filmapalooza event, competing against entries from over 130 cities worldwide. The top ten films from Filmapalooza are then screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner.
