The Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych (Festival of Polish Feature Films), commonly known as the Gdynia Film Festival, is a prominent annual film festival dedicated to promoting Polish cinematography. Established in 1974, it initially took place in Gdańsk before moving to Gdynia in 1986, where its main venue is the Musical Theatre. The festival features competitive sections for feature films (Konkurs Główny for the Golden and Silver Lions), short films, and micro-budget films, along with non-competitive sections like "Czysta Klasyka" for digitally restored Polish films and "Polonica" for international co-productions with Polish involvement. It is considered the most important Polish film event, playing a significant role in popularizing film culture and promoting Polish cinematic achievements.
