The Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF) is an annual nine to ten-day film festival held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, that showcases a diverse range of feature films, documentaries, and short films from both Canada and around the world. Established in 1986 as the Local Heroes Film Festival, it was later renamed in 2003. The festival is notable for being an Oscar-qualifying event for short films in both live-action and animation categories. The 36th Edmonton International Film Festival would have taken place in late September or early October of 2022, following the 35th edition in 2021 and preceding the 38th in 2024.
