The 31st Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is scheduled to be held from November 6 to November 13, 2025, transforming Kolkata into a cinematic hub under the theme "Where Cinema Connects The World." The festival will feature the screening of 215 films from 39 countries across 21 venues. This edition will spotlight Poland as the focus country, presenting 19 Polish films. A special centenary tribute will be paid to the legendary filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak, with six of his films being screened, including "Ajantrik" and "Meghe Dhaka Tara." The festival is set to open with the 1961 Bengali classic "Saptapadi" by Ajoy Kar. The inauguration will be attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and notable personalities such as Sharmila Tagore, Shatrughan Sinha, and Ramesh Sippy.
