The 27th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) took place from July 19 to 29, 2024, across multiple cities in Guanajuato, Mexico, including León, San Miguel de Allende, and Irapuato. This edition featured a lineup of 192 films, with 157 in competition and 16 world premieres, and also included a virtual reality exhibition with 16 "immersive" films. China was the guest country of honor, and the festival paid tribute to several significant figures in Mexican cinematography.
