The Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival is a biennial event held in Łódź, Poland, dedicated to promoting Polish and international nature films. Established in 1980, it gained international status in 2001. The festival aims to evaluate the current state and future prospects of nature film development, define possibilities for using nature films in youth education, and honor valuable films and TV programs focused on nature issues. It is considered the largest presentation of nature films in Poland and serves as a gathering for ecologists, filmmakers, naturalists, photographers, and painters. The festival awards the Włodzimierz Puchalski Grand Prix for the best film, with total prizes amounting to 12,000 Euros. Films participating are typically short or medium length, addressing themes of nature, environmental protection, and the coexistence of humans and nature.
