The 12th CMS Vatavaran International Environmental Film Festival and Forum on Environment and Wildlife took place from October 3-5, 2024, at the Ganga Auditorium, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, in Jor Bagh, New Delhi. This edition, themed "Wetlands for LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment)," aimed to promote environmental awareness through films and dialogue, encouraging eco-conscious lifestyles that support wetland conservation. Organized by the Centre for Media Studies (CMS) in partnership with various organizations including the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), the festival featured film screenings, seminars, discussions, and an award ceremony. It received over 800 film submissions from 68 countries, with 66 films nominated and 14 ultimately receiving awards across national and international categories. A new segment, the "Green Film Fete," was also introduced, held from September 10-20, 2024, across schools and universities in New Delhi to inspire youth through conservation-focused discussions.
