The Apricot Tree International Documentary Film Festival is an annual event held in Armenia, primarily in the village of Debet in the Lori Province. Established in 2015 by the Filmadaran Film Culture Development NGO, it focuses on documentary films of all genres, including ethnographic, experimental, and animated works. The 11th edition is scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 6, and it is known for its unique approach of accommodating filmmakers in villagers' homes to foster cultural exchange and community engagement, rather than featuring red carpets or grandiose ceremonies. The festival aims to decentralize cultural life in Armenia and provide rural populations with access to international and local art.
